I fell deeply in love with the ruined orangery at Gibside. The tall brick arches with the overgrown garden within was like something out of The Enchanted Castle – my favourite Edith Nesbit novel.
As November draws to a close, I must reluctantly bid goodbye to autumn. All the leaves have been blown off the trees now but I was just in time to capture them in their final, most striking blaze of glory before the end.
