Wearing ✶ Faye Dress in Sandstone c/o Ace & Jig ✶ Vintage Liberty silk scarf {Similar here}✶ Celadon trainers c/o Ace & Jig x Keds ✶ Tabbisocks crew socks ✶ Olney boater hat
Last week, I got the most beautiful Ace & Jig dress in the post and I’m just head over heels in love with it. This is the Faye dress from their SS19 collection, and it’s one of the pieces that comes in the extended size range. I’d heard some very favourable things about the Sandstone fabric, but I wasn’t quite prepared for exactly how soft and luxurious and cosy it is IRL! The colourway is stunning to begin with and once you put it on, it’s like wearing a soft, romantic dream.
I picked the 1X for myself and I initially wasn’t sure if it would accommodate my third trimester belly, I just hoped it would! For all my worries, the fit is incredibly comfy with lots of room to spare and the elastic waist is very accommodating! I feel that the Faye dress runs a little larger than the Marie dress in the same size – however, this could also be a result of the weight I’ve lost in pregnancy. It’s hard to tell because I’m so much bigger around the middle than I used to be, but it’s possible that my limbs and shoulders are a bit smaller than they were pre-babby. I pinned the wrap neckline closed mostly out of habit, but I needn’t really have bothered as it stays in place very well on its own.
I completed the look with some more Ace & Jig in the from of the Celadon trainers, and my current favourite vintage Liberty scarf that I wore in my last post. As I mentioned on Instagram while talking about this dress – third trimester is such an awkward and uncomfortable time when everything feels like its too much to handle, I’m genuinely grateful for pieces like the Faye dress that don’t compromise on style or comfort, while remaining sustainable and ethical!
Lovely dress, it looks much nicer on you than it does in the product pictures!
You look beautiful! (and how did you manage loosing weight while expecting? I always seem to gain weight instead) All the very best to you and baby!
I got the morning sickness from hell that was somehow not bad enough to qualify as hyperemesis, it’s been a rough ride and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone!
