Here are some step by step instructions to make your own gold autumn crown! I’d say it’s a level 2 DIY, mostly because things can get fiddly if you’re using dried bay leaves like I did, or other dried organic matter – leaves, flowers, twigs – they tend to split if you’re not too careful. You could also skip the gold paint altogether and use a range of craft leaves and flowers for a totally different theme! The floral tape can easily be substituted with washi tape, just make sure that there aren’t wire bits poking into your scalp. It also helps shape the crown better if you try it on between steps, because everyone’s head is shaped differently! Lastly, I used organza ribbon as that’s all I could get at a short notice, but you can use velvet ribbon for a really lush feel. Happy crafting!
