A Spring Dress In Jesmond Dene

Last Saturday was the perfect summer day (in April!) It was also the Jesmond food market, so Owen and I took the afternoon off to browse through the market stalls and then wander along Jesmond Dene. Our place is barely a few minutes walk from here, sometimes I still can’t believe how lucky we are to live next to such a magical place!

I also wanted to break in some of my new spring wardrobe – it feels so strange to be shopping retail again instead of designing my own clothes with my tailor! I bought this wrap maxi dress from Glamorous Curve knowing that I was either going to love it to bits or hate it with a passion, thankfully it’s love. It’s a proper wrap dress, which means it can go from demure to risque as you move, so it’s probably a good idea to wear some lacy bike shorts underneath! I got the size 18 which is a comfortable fit on me – the neckline is a little deep so I wore my Elomi Sachi bra underneath to show off its strap detail. My new regular bag – the Ban.do Amigo bag – was an unexpectedly good match with the brick red ASOS sandals, and I slung my wide brimmed straw hat over my shoulder to complete the vintage summery look. I love putting together outfits that look like they could be from 60, 70, 80 years ago but work perfectly in 2018 as well. Vintage with a modern twist, that’s what I love ♥
